Carly is currently an Events Assistant in the Development Department of the University of Pennsylvania. She was accepted into Penn’s Counseling Mental Health Services program, and intends to start with her cohort in the Summer of 2019.

She graduated as a Journalism Major and Psychology minor from Emerson College completed in the Spring of 2018.

During her sophomore year of school, Carly discovered a deep passion for the world of mental health advocacy. She joined her college’s Active Minds Chapter and was able to serve the Emerson community by bringing educational programming, advocacy, and compassion to her school’s community.

Fall of her senior year, Carly interned at the Active Minds National Office in Washington D.C as their Mental Health Awareness and National Conference intern. Here, she helped plan the annual Mental Health on College Campus Conference, as well as research mental health initiatives and communicate with chapters across the country.

Since then, Carly has made mental health advocacy a big part of her life by volunteer with Crisis Textline and incorporating stigma fighting into her online presence and social media.

Personal: 

Outside mental health, Carly is an extremely passionate about travel, tea, yoga and dogs!

She studied abroad in London during the Spring semester of her Sophomore year, and Washington D.C. during the Fall Semester of her Senior year. Her favorite place she’s visited was Pompeii, Italy.

Carly’s favorite teas include Earl Grey, Royal Wedding, and Raspberry Zinger.

Her favorite books include The GiverThe Harry Potter Series, and When Breath Becomes Air.
